Our client is a tax accounting firm with more than 20 years of experience and expertise in attending to various accounting, taxation and financial-related needs for your personal wealth and your businesses. They are now hiring a Tax Accountant.

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your job duties are broad and varied and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Broadly:

  • Collection of financial data for the preparation of Tax Return
  • Preparation of Income Tax Returns for Individuals and Partnerships
  • Preparation and compilation of financial reports covering profit and loss, balance sheet, capital accounts and internal management reports for Sole Traders and Partnerships
  • Gathering and summarising financial data for the preparation and review of GST, Payroll, Contractor reporting obligations
  • General office administrative duties

In detail:

  • Identify tax issues and simplify tax issues to explain to clients
  • Provide strategic taxation advice and tax planning advice to clients
  • Prepare worksheets and account notes to substantiate and explain accounting records
  • Liaison with clients in all aspects in order for us to produce a tax return, including any response to tax questions as required, as well as prompt and timely follow-ups of tax matters
  • Provide clients with efficient accounting and tax services in a friendly and helpful manner, and an overall positive experience with the company
  • Liaison with Australian Taxation Office, and any other organisations as required
  • Research and interpreting taxation law
  • Update job knowledge including the studying of current and new taxation legislation to ensure compliance in tax, participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organisations.
  • Ensures client confidentiality by keeping financial information secure
  • Organised, good time management and prioritisation of your jobs including prompt follow ups with clients, colleagues and any other relevant organisations
  • Follows internal controls to ensure financial security
  • Assistance in process improvement and system enhancement initiatives
  • Proactively identify new initiatives that could benefit the organisation
  • Support to the Business Accounting team and the overall organisation
  • Achieves individual and team goals by contributing to effort as needed
  • Assistance to the management and training staff when necessary
  • Loyalty to the company, protection of company’s interests,  and positive promotion of the company in business and social environments

You must be:

  • CPA or CA qualified
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Understand and strong application of Australian Taxation Law
  • Minimum 3 years full time experience of a similar role in a CPA or CA accounting practice in Australia
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle priorities
  • High organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Have a can-do attitude
  • Excellent follow up skills and reporting to management
  • Ability to identify tax planning issues
Salary: $60k-$80k plus super
