Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute recruiting plans, particularly for academic staff (teachers) as well as general staff.
  • Handle administrative duties and record keeping.
  • Support the coordination of procedures such as on-boarding activities, probation, off-boarding, etc., and ensure the timely completion of all tasks.
  • Prepare contracts and assist in the development of role position descriptions.
  • Liaise closely with HR team in planning and developing Annual Staff Training/ Conference.
  • Identify areas for development and improvement, including Training Needs Analysis (TNA).
  • Conduct position analysis and descriptions, including role responsibilities and benefits.
  • Assist other HR team members in conducting Performance Review process, such as Annual Performance Review, when needed.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR strategies and policies, as well as HR systems and procedures.
  • Ensure all HR activities are compliant with legal requirements and related Acts.
  • Socialise company policies to all staff where appropriate.
  • Review and assist with all inquiries by either resolving them within the scope of authority or referring them on to the appropriate source
  • Prepare letters and documents as appropriate, such as Welcome Letters and any notification related to HR administration/initiatives.
  • Disseminate information on recruitment to relevant organisational units.
  • Liaise closely with the Operations and Academic Divisions to ensure that there are no processing or communication problems impacting staffing and recruitment.
  • Work with the various departments to ensure that the HR team is at all times providing accurate and up-to-date advice on academic and operational staffing and procedures.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of quality assurance and continuous improvement as they apply to HR Recruitment at company
  • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the company strategic plan, policies, and to quality assurance process.
  • Deal with contemporary employment relations and HRM issues.
  • Provide advice to employee-related matters as appropriate.
  • Work with Company lawyers to resolve employment issues
  • Oversee the organisation Workplace Health and Safety initiatives.
  • Implement actions related to health and safety measures.
  • Act as the organisation’s Safety Officer.
  • Be in charge of all health and safety-related matters, including but not limited to record keeping and updates on first aid kit, fire safety checks, etc.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of working experience within HR discipline.
  • Proven experience in driving cultural change by delivering key HR projects to positively influence the organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience in the strategic development of human resources recruitment and management across international partnerships and engagement functions at a mid to senior level.
  • A solid understanding of contemporary HR issues including the Fair Work Act.
  • A strong track record of achievement in developing and managing successful recruitment strategies/plans.
  • Experience in the development and maintenance of policies relating to employment and other human resources issues.
  • Strong analytical skills in identifying areas for development and improvements, such as Training Needs Analysis.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in managing Workplace Health and Safety procedures.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of inter-disciplinary team working and a collegiate approach.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues with clarity to a wide range of audiences and across cultural boundaries.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player with the ability to earn the respect of colleagues, influence and persuade others and form mutually beneficial relationships.

  • While the role will be based in Melbourne, some national and overseas travel may be required.
Salary: Negotiable depends on experience
