Our client is an engineering consultancy with offices in different states across Australia. They are seeking expressions of interest for a Senior and Associate level Structural Engineer to join the team in Melbourne.
Your role will include, but will not be limited to:
- Delivering high quality and innovative structural designs and documentation for building structures with medium to large complexity, including mid-rise apartments and residential buildings.
- Leading and managing projects from concept design to construction within budget and delivery time frames.
- Liaising with architects, project managers, builders and other relevant project stakeholders across multiple disciplines
- Cultivating a sense of client focus in your team’s everyday approach to their work, in particular with a sense of responsiveness, delivery on time, and professionalism.
- Mentoring and development of engineers, growing that structural team and growing the portfolio of clients.
You will need to have:
- A minimum qualification of Bachelor Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Experience in the design of structural/residential/commercial, residential multi-level building structures (5-8 years for Senior and 12 years of experience for Associate) in the building industry in Australia.
- Experience in designing of reinforced concrete, steel and concrete structures and residential buildings including raft and waffle designs, subfloor designs, timber framing, basements, extensions etc
- Proficient in the use of engineering design software tools.
- A keen sense of professionalism.
- A network of clients who have been satisfied with your approach to structural consultancy.
- An ability to build rapport with all types of clients and project stakeholders.
- A drive to further develop your career and assist with business development
- Advanced ability to interpret the requirements of Australian standards and building codes.
- Ability to instruct the project design teams in the most efficient way to complete structural designs.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and an ability to convey information accurately.
- Registered building practitioner (RBP) status.
Desirable to have:
- Chartered professional engineer status.
