POSITION PURPOSE

As a Senior Accountant within the firm’s Business Advisory division, you will be required to complete client work across a range of accounting, compliance and advisory services.

In this role you will provide your internal and external stakeholders with exceptional client service by ensuring all work prepared by you is accurate and delivered in a timely manner. The team will look to you to contribute and complete client work as requested.

Responsibilities include the preparation and completion of tax returns, general and special purpose financial statements, and the construction of logical and accurate working papers. You will build strong relationships with your clients and in addition provide leadership, guidance and assistance to junior team members where required.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparing and completing income tax returns for all lodging entities including individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies.

• Preparing monthly and quarterly compliance obligations such as Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activities Statements (IAS).

• Preparing general and special purpose financial statements.

• Constructing and maintaining logical and accurate working papers.

• Preparing and completing tax reconciliations.

• Preparing cash flow statements.

• Preparing tax checklists.

• Reconciling client accounts.

• Assisting in consulting matters, including the provision of tax advice and management reporting.

• Delegating and reviewing the work of junior team members whilst providing them with guidance and assistance in the completion of their responsibilities.

• Assisting with client queries and administration tasks (e.g., completing client engagement letters and new proposals).

• Ensuring budget and productivity targets are met.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

Business Advisory Team

• Reports to Manager – Business Advisory.

• Receives leadership, support and guidance from Managers and Directors.

• Works in collaboration with and advises other members of the team to ensure the expectations internal and external stakeholders are met.

• Guides and assists junior team members.

• Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships across the organisation by responding to queries and requests, and providing appropriate information and assistance as required.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or similar undergraduate degree.

• Completed professional certification – Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Practicing

Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.

• Evidence of continuous personal and professional development, including maintaining the required CPD hours.

• 3 years’ experience in professional services with an emphasis on Accounting and Tax.

• Exposure to larger client groups and sophisticated business structures with multiple entities and technical complexity.

Salary: $85k- $100k package
