Our client operates in the Pharmaceuticals industry and has success in customer loyalty and a high level of market penetration. They are now looking for a Network and Systems Administrator to join the team.
Essential function(s) includes, but is not limited to:
The network and systems administrator maintains IT devices and network of multiple companies across the group, providing technical support and ensuring the whole company ICT infrastructure runs smoothly. The qualifier needs to monitor and maintain the network operating systems, install and configures hardware and software and solves network and systems problems. Also overseeing and ensuring that computing systems and equipment are operating effectively and efficiently.
- Installing and configuring PCs, Windows Server 2012-19 (including virtual servers),, VOIP systems, CCTV monitoring systems, access control systems, network system, printers and scanners
- Cooperating with third-party experts to design and build the network infrastructure of multiple group companies.
- Monitoring and maintaining system operating environment and networks
- Diagnosing and revolving hardware, software and network faulty
- Providing ICT technical support across the companies in group (this may be in person, email, ticket system, or over the phone) and responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
- Develop disaster recovery plan and backup procedures in order to decrease technology risks and ensure system security, recoverability, integrity, access controls, availability, archiving, database security and robustness
- User account and group policy management in Microsoft Active Directory, O365 and other systems
- ICT asset management, including evaluating, purchasing, repairing, replacing and registering devices and software licences as necessary
- Researching and implementing new technologies to improve ICT service across companies in group
- ICT training for staff members
- Assuring all ICT activities are performed within the parameters of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
- Developing ICT Standard Operating Procedure to normalize and secure ICT activities
The primary activities will cover several function fields across multiple sites, including but not limited to:
Network Administrator
- Network infrastructure building and troubleshooting
- Network devices management and configuration
- Work with third parties and network providers to maintain the network environment
- Evaluate technology risks in order to develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures
System Administrator
- Create, remove, modify IT user account
- Administration user authentication
- Monitor daily operations and troubleshot systems, including server, hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Generate performance reposts for ICT services and system environments
- Plan and coordinate technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Select and purchase new and replacement hardware and software, when necessary
- Develop disaster recovery plan and backup procedures in order to decrease technology risks and ensure system security, recoverability, integrity, access controls, availability, archiving, database security and robustness.
System Support
- First level help desk support and troubleshooting on software, including iPhone configuration, SAP, MyOb, O365, MES etc.
- First level help desk support and troubleshooting on hardware, including desktops, printers and scanners
- Manage, support and track project plan deliverables against the project plan.
- Manage meeting plans, take minutes, actions and registers.
Organisation and Efficiency
- Co-ordinate daily activities to meet specified lead times.
- Register and manage ICT assets including hardware and software licences
- Provide analytical support and guidance through analysis of data from various systems to assist the decision-making needs of the stakeholders
- Work closely with the General Manager/Director and actively assist in day-to-day tasks as required.
Communication
- Provide information to requests with the assurance that the data is valid.
- Provide support to manufacturing and administration when requested.
- Work as a team member, co-ordinate activities to enhance the performance of the group or project.
Staff Training
- Provision of training/assistance to staff members in accordance with company and relevant quality standards requirements.
- Attendance at agreed training courses (identified through Performance Appraisal or other appropriate methods).
- Identification of own training needs.
Documentation
- Maintain all documentation in accordance with Company and relevant quality standards.
- Produce/assist with SOP development and SOP updates.
Maintenance and Housekeeping
- Ensure equipment is in a clean and safe working order at all times.
- Ensure good housekeeping in the work area in accordance with company and relevant quality standards.
Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
- Required to take reasonable care of your own health and safety and the health and safety of anyone else who may be affected by your acts or omissions in the workplace.
- Co-operate with management with respect to action taken to comply with SHE requirements.
- Contribute to the SHE system by active identification of hazards and environmental risks.
Skills and key requirements:
To be successful in this position has to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the industry’s best practices and evidence a professional track record of effective technical management, information analysis, and a thorough understanding of computer hardware and software systems.
- Proven experience in Networks & Systems position.
- Network device configuration (Cisco/Watchguard/Sophos including VLANS, VPNs, MPLS and Routing).
- Windows AD, DHCP, GPO’s, DNS, and Radius.
- Cisco (CCNA / CCNP) or equivalent experience and skills
- Experience with computer networks infrastructure administration, include but not limited to network structure planning, installation, controlling and management.
- Proficient in computer hardware, cabling installation and support, wireless technology applications and interface, and IT security.
- Experience with server management and configuration, including disaster recovery plan and backup plan design and implementation
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- Management and leadership skills.
- Project management, multi-tasking, resource/ budget control and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible working hours.
- Be process driven to provide accurate and up-to-date information to team members at any given time.
- Must have Drivers Licence.
