English/Mandarin Speaking Farm Coordinator

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a farm business. The property of 2000 hectares is located in Central Victoria within 20 kilometres of a large regional city and enjoys great sceneries of the Western District, with a recently renovated homestead and a beautiful garden which is still under development. The main business on the farm is wool production with over 8000 merino sheep. The owner of the property is a successful Chinese businessman who is generally based in China but visits Australia and spends a significant amount of time on the farm every year.

Our client is currently looking for for an experienced, responsible farm coordinator to care for the property and ensure the overall security of the property and some general farm duties.

The main responsibilities include:

• maintaining the homestead to a high standard
• liaising with gardeners and designer for the garden development
• coordinating the communication between the owner and the farm manager and the team
• performing some farm duties
• assisting in other developments on the property
• hosting and looking after artists (from China) during their stay on the property periodically

Hours are varied and can include some evenings and weekends and there are times when cooking will be required, especially during the time when the owner stays on the property. Additional duties are required from time to time which is reflected in the salary offered. A company vehicle and on-site accommodation are provided as part of the package.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role, private service and an understanding of rural life would be highly regarded
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluent in Mandarin and English, both verbally and written
• Mush have strong passion for Australian agriculture – farms and animals (Sheep)
• A relevant experience ideally gained from agricultural industries preferably sheep farms, desirable but not necessary
• Valid Full Driver’s licence holder who can commute to remote areas in Victoria
