Our client is a dedicated electrical contracting company that specialises in residential, commercial and industrial projects and maintenance services.

Primary Purpose of Job

You are required to be willing to take ownership of the project, have the ability to oversee the project’s tasks and progress, meet’s the client’s deadlines, train and instruct apprentices, manage stock levels, make your own decisions and deliver an efficient and quality finish. It is essential that you can manage yourself and your staff, so they get the most out of the day and have everything they need to complete each task. It is very important that you have the ability to professionally represent the company on-site and in front of the client, instilling a sense of confidence to ensure that the company is always seen as the right choice from the client’s perspective.

Skills, knowledge, and experience

  • Solid knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
  • Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment
  • Experience in electrical works to Australian New Zealand Wiring Rules (AS/NZS 3000) including but not limited to underground conduits and ground leads, rough in / fit off, lighting & power installation, mains and sub-mains installation / termination, MSB / DB installation / termination, data / cable tray installation
  • Comfortable reading and understanding electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams
  • Ability to calculate basic mathematical problems
  • Foresight in the project to foresee works up coming
  • Fault finding and problem solving
  • High attention to detail and a drive to complete the jobs the right way

Qualification and Requirement:

  • Unrestricted rights to work in Australia (essential)
  • Victoria’s A-Class Electrician licence (essential)
  • Current OHS Construction Induction White Card (essential)
  • Valid and current drivers licence (essential)
  • Minimum 2 recent references (essential)
  • Working with Children Check (preferred but not essential)
  • Qualified telecommunications licence (preferred but not essential)
  • Elevating Work Platform Ticket (preferred but not essential)
  • Working at Heights training (preferred but not essential)
  • Current First Aid Certificate and CPR (preferred but not essential)
