POSITION PURPOSE
As an Intermediate Accountant within the firm’s Business Advisory division, you will be required to complete client work across a range of accounting, compliance, and advisory services.
In this role you will provide internal and external stakeholders with exceptional client service, by
ensuring all work prepared by you is accurate and delivered in a timely manner. The team will look to you to contribute and complete client work as requested.
Responsibilities include the preparation and completion of income tax returns for all lodging entities, general and special purpose financial statements, as well as the construction and maintenance of logical and accurate working papers.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Preparation of financial statements, income tax returns, and BAS/IAS for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships.
• Assist with reconciliations, financial analysis, and tax compliance.
• Construct and maintain logical and accurate working papers.
• Conduct research on tax and accounting matters, ensuring compliance with current regulations.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reporting.
• Liaise with clients, the ATO, and other stakeholders to provide accurate and timely financial information and advice.
• Support senior team members in advisory and consulting projects.
• Ensuring budget and productivity targets are met.
• Assist with providing support and guidance to junior team members

KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Business Advisory Team
• Reports to Manager – Business Advisory.
• Receives leadership, support and guidance from Managers and Directors.
• Works in collaboration with and receives direction from other members of the team to ensure the expectations of internal and external stakeholders are met.

• Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships across the organisation by responding to queries and requests, and providing appropriate information and assistance as required.

External Clients and Stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or similar undergraduate degree.
• Actively completing the Chartered Accountant (CA) Program, Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) Program or equivalent professional certification.
• 12 months’ experience in professional services with an emphasis on Accounting, Tax or Audit and Assurance.
