Responsibilities
- Preparing and completing income tax returns for all lodging entities including individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies.
- Preparing monthly and quarterly compliance obligations such as Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activities Statements (IAS).
- Preparing general and special purpose financial statements.
- Constructing and maintaining logical and accurate working papers.
- Preparing tax checklists.
- Reconciling client accounts.
- Preparing tax reconciliations.
- Preparing cash flow statements.
- Assisting in consulting matters as required.
- Assisting with ad hoc client queries and administration tasks (e.g. engagement letter preparation).
- Ensuring budget and productivity targets are met.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or similar undergraduate degree.
- Actively completing the Chartered Accountant (CA) Program, Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) Program or equivalent professional certification.
- 12 months’ experience in professional services with an emphasis on Accounting, Tax or Audit and Assurance.

Technical Knowledge and Abilities
- Sound knowledge of and exposure to the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Exposure to accounting software, including but not limited to Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks.
- Basic exposure to a range of technical accounting and tax issues, including but not limited to:
- Income Tax
- Capital Gains Tax (CGT)
- Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT)
- Goods and Services Tax (GST)
- Payroll Tax
- Entity Structures
- Div 7A
- Accounting Methodologies and Procedures
- Accounting Principles
Salary: $70k - $80k including super
