Our client is a well-known Real Estate Group in a premium location in Melbourne. They provide overall housing design, construction planning and project management services etc. They are now looking for a Purchasing Manager to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Developing, leading, and implementing purchasing strategies
- Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks
- Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Seeking and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
- Crafting negotiation strategies and closing deals with optimal terms
- Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc
- Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation
- Coordinating with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs
- Forecasting price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
- Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets
- Assessing, managing, and mitigating risks to ensure that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications
- Working to improve purchasing systems and processes
- Training new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system
Requirements:
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Excellent communication and written skill (both English and Mandarin)
- Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Supervisory and management experience
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software
- Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management
- Ability to work independently and attention in details
- Degree in business administration or a related field
- Experience as a purchasing manager or in a similar position
Salary: $75k - $90k including super
